The Cairo Transport App Challenge has finished!

The Cairo Transport App Challenge has ended as a great success, for both user participation and for its impact on social and traditional media. Since its launch on September 15, 2012, more than 250 developers have registered for the competition, which received many innovative app ideas from the more than 30 teams formed.

The ten finalists competed in the final ceremony on February 16, where the best app was chosen and five prizes were awarded in total, valued at more than $6500. The creativity and utility demonstrated by the participating apps in the Cairo Transport App Challenge have set an example of hope for innovation in Egypt and shown how apps can offer small solutions to big problems: like the problem of transportation in Cairo.
