Eng. Ahmed El-Dorghamy is an Energy & Environment Consultant at the Center for Environment & Development in the Arab Region & Europe (CEDARE) and co-founder of Green Arm. He graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden, where he completed his MSc in Energy Technology and his MSc in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure.
He was previously a member of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Expert Team 3-year project for the capacity building of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) as well as the study team for the Greater Cairo Metro Line No.4 as the Environmental Impact Assessment expert. El-Dorghamy later worked in Tri-Ocean Energy in the fields of renewable energy and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects as a business developer before lastly joining the international not-for-profit diplomatic organization CEDARE.
He has also been active in many volunteer activities promoting environmental activism, such as carrying out the Energy and Environment free school program of El-Sawy Culture wheel over the summer of 2008, co-founding youth organizations for environmental activism, and became a board of Nahdet El-Mahrousa NGO in 2009, and co-founded the Green Arm incubated in the NGO, which focuses on sustainable transportation and issues of the urban environment.
